For Patients
In a modern medical practice, the well-being of patients is the focus, with an emphasis on personal, competent care and treatment on an equal footing.

Overview of Services
Head and neck surgery is a subspecialty of otorhinolaryngology (ENT) and deals with diseases of the skin of the head and neck, the mucosa of the upper respiratory and digestive tract (nasal cavity, oral cavity, pharynx, larynx), the salivary glands, and the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Such conditions can include, for example, melanoma or non-melanoma skin cancer or mucosal cancers such as tongue cancer or throat cancer. Benign or malignant changes of the salivary glands (salivary gland tumours, salivary gland cancer) or the thyroid (thyroid nodules, goitre, thyroid cancer) and parathyroid glands (parathyroid insufficiency) are also included. Finally, head and neck surgeons also address non-tumorous conditions such as hypopharyngeal pouches or polyps on the vocal cords.
The versatility of head and neck surgery and ENT in general lies in the fact that it does not only involve surgical therapy, but in most cases (together with referring physicians) also includes diagnostics and follow-up care. The practice offers modern diagnostic methods such as endoscopy and ultrasound, which can also be used for tissue sampling (biopsies). Any further or alternative diagnostics and treatments can be planned at any time with our collaborating specialists.
Treatment Process in the Practice
After receiving your referral, we will contact you promptly to schedule an initial consultation, taking into account medical urgency and, where possible, your preferences. Of course, you can also independently schedule an appointment by phone, email, or through the online calendar.
Please bring your health insurance card(s) (basic and any private insurance) and any available reports from previous examinations, medication lists, or an allergy passport to the initial consultation.
During the initial consultation, we will document your symptoms, perform an examination, and review any existing test results together. If we conclude that further diagnostics are necessary, these can be performed during the initial consultation (e.g., biopsies or fine-needle aspirations) or planned with our collaboration partners (e.g., MRI). Your referring physician will receive a first consultation report from us on the same day, which we can also send to you if desired.
Depending on the indicated further investigations, we will schedule a follow-up discussion before planning the next steps. For the corresponding conditions, diagnostics, and treatments, please refer to the "services" section on our website (link).
After treatment, we will continue to care for you until recovery is complete. For many tumour diseases, long-term follow-up over several years is necessary, for which we are happy to collaborate with your referring physician.
